Baltic Amber Necklace Review

By Kira On August 23, 2013 No Comments

yhst-128320580212598_2251_241086Anyone who has ever been around a teething baby know they can be pretty cranky at times. Parents go to all kinds of extremes to help ease the pain and the crankiness. One of these methods is the Baltic Amber Necklace. Honestly, I have always been slightly skeptical as to whether they actually do anything or not. I tried researching them and pretty much what I found was people who use them swear by them and people who do not use them claim they are  a complete hoax. Being on the Natural side of things I like they idea of a necklace that relieves teething pain so when I found a co-op selling them for about $7 a piece I decided I would try it out for myself and make my own opinion on them.

Help Me Choose My Christmas Card

By Kira On November 14, 2012 7 Comments

Snow Falling, Kids Sledding, Hot Cocoa being served…winter is upon us :-). With winter comes Christmas and with Christmas comes cards and letters from friends and family. I LOVE this time of year when people take the time to send a card, a photo or even just  a quick note updating us on how their year was or what is going on in their lives. I also enjoy sending out Christmas cards and letters to friends and family. The last few years I have used Tiny Prints to put together our Christmas Cards. I love the quality of the cards I get from them and the simplicity of their site for putting together my card quickly and easily. I also like that alot of their Christmas Cards have lots of room for adding writing along with the pictures allowing me to put my yearly update right on the cardClick here to continue reading

My Fruit Bowl

By Kira On October 9, 2011 No Comments

20111008-095244.jpgI thought I would share one of my favorite parts of my kitchen today….My Fruit Bowl. Now this may not be overly exciting or really worth a blog posting in your eyes. However, as I loaded up my fruit bowl this evening with all the fruit for the week it brought back memories and I thought I would share why I LOVE my fruit bowl. Growing up I have quiet a few memories that have to do with fruit. My mom may differ but as for my memory we did not have a huge variety when it came to fruit around the house…usually it was limited to apples and bananas with the exception of special occasions. Even then the things I remember about having fruit are tied to specific memories and I thought I would share a few of these.

I’m sure we

Make Your Own Dishwasher Detergent

By Kira On July 8, 2011 No Comments

With our recent relocation I have been given the opportunity to be just a stay at home mom. Now I say just because I have always considered myself in some sense a stay at home home mom. However, I also ran a daycare prior to moving. So while I was home I often thought I might have had a cleaner house and accomplished more at home had I worked outside the home. While I LOVED my job and LOVED the kids I cared for…it is amazing how much work it is to just keep up to 12 kids 7 & under clean, fed, entertained.

So with my new role as a stay at home mom I am LOVING the time I get to spend with just my 3 kids. I am also enjoying finding ways to keep our expenses down making it possible for me to continue being a
