DIY Baby Wearing Coat

By Kira On October 27, 2013 No Comments

So, I know I said the Baby Led Weaning post was next…AND it is still coming…hopefully tomorrow. In the mean time I wanted to share my project from today. A DIY Baby Wearing winter coat!!

I have been eyeing all the cool baby wearing coats and jackets for a few years now. It started when my now 3yr old was a baby and yet I just have not been able to justify spending $50-$100 or more on a coat. A few years back I made the no-sew diy poncho that worked great for front carries. However, this time around I’m looking to continue babywearing past a year which means more back carries and we are also in a much colder area which means we really need a coat.

After seeing several examples

Back to {HOME} School – Our Curriculum Choices

By Kira On October 8, 2013 No Comments

I’m a bit late on this post but excited to share so here it goes…Our Back to {Home} School post! I am EXCITED about this year. Excited to start back into a routine, excited to work on more child training stuff…things that we have slacked on and really need work now (but that is another post) and excited to jump into our curriculum! I’m typically a pretty straight forward type of curriculum person…in the past we have gone almost completely ACE. This year though I have stepped out of my ACE bubble and we are doing some really fun and different things!

I will be teaching 3 kiddos this year: Big Sis is in 4th grade, Big Brother is in Kindergarten and Lil Sis in Preschool. They will each have a few subjects on their own and then we will be learning history and science as a group.

Baltic Amber Necklace Review

yhst-128320580212598_2251_241086Anyone who has ever been around a teething baby know they can be pretty cranky at times. Parents go to all kinds of extremes to help ease the pain and the crankiness. One of these methods is the Baltic Amber Necklace. Honestly, I have always been slightly skeptical as to whether they actually do anything or not. I tried researching them and pretty much what I found was people who use them swear by them and people who do not use them claim they are  a complete hoax. Being on the Natural side of things I like they idea of a necklace that relieves teething pain so when I found a co-op selling them for about $7 a piece I decided I would try it out for myself and make my own opinion on them.

First off I know you

Help Me Choose My Christmas Card

By Kira On November 14, 2012 7 Comments

Snow Falling, Kids Sledding, Hot Cocoa being served…winter is upon us :-). With winter comes Christmas and with Christmas comes cards and letters from friends and family. I LOVE this time of year when people take the time to send a card, a photo or even just  a quick note updating us on how their year was or what is going on in their lives. I also enjoy sending out Christmas cards and letters to friends and family. The last few years I have used Tiny Prints to put together our Christmas Cards. I love the quality of the cards I get from them and the simplicity of their site for putting together my card quickly and easily. I also like that alot of their Christmas Cards have lots of room for adding writing along with the pictures allowing me to put my yearly update right on the cardClick here to continue reading
